Allston-Brighton’s residents, school children and Girl Scouts — along with a special guest, some light snow — assembled for the annual lighting of Brighton Centre’s Christmas tree Monday evening. Despite the freezing cold, the crowd sang holiday songs, sipped hot cocoa and waited expectantly for Santa to light up the 25-foot-tall spruce.
